Your role and ours
Important information about our services and your care.
Please read this disclaimer carefully. By booking an appointment or receiving care at Sports Therapy and Osteopathy Rapid, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following.
Not medical advice or emergency care
Our practitioners are not physicians (MDs). Osteopathy and athletic therapy are complementary healthcare services. They do not replace diagnosis or treatment by a physician or another primary care provider.
If you have a medical emergency (e.g., chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe injury, suspected fracture, loss of consciousness), call 911, contact your doctor, or go to your nearest emergency department.
Scope of our services
We provide:
- Osteopathy: Manual assessment and treatment aimed at restoring function, mobility, and balance. Our osteopath holds a D.O. (QC) and is a member of Ostéopathie Québec.
- Athletic therapy: Assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. Our therapist is CAT(C) certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association.
We do not prescribe medication, order imaging (e.g., X-rays, MRI), or provide a medical diagnosis. We may recommend that you see your doctor or a specialist when appropriate.
Your responsibility
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete health information (medical history, current symptoms, medications, and any other relevant details).
- Inform us of any changes in your condition or health during your care.
- Follow the treatment and home-care advice given to you, and ask questions if anything is unclear.
- Seek emergency or medical care when needed, and to continue following the advice of your physician or other healthcare providers.
Consent to treatment
By attending your appointment, you consent to assessment and treatment as discussed with your practitioner. You may ask questions at any time and may withdraw consent or decline any part of treatment. We will explain the nature of the treatment and any reasonable risks before proceeding when appropriate.
Minors
For patients under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent for treatment and, when appropriate, be present or available. Please ensure we have the required consent before the first visit.
